What We're Thankful For

11 Months Old

Our baby is getting so big so fast.  One thing is for sure, it's been harder and harder to get him to sit still for anything, especially to take these monthly pictures. Here's what he's been up to this month:

He is into EVERYTHING. He loves opening cupboards and drawers and pulling things out onto the floor.

He likes to say "nine" a lot. We're not quite sure why, or where that came from. He's getting real good at doing "so big" and stretching with his arms way up high first thing in the morning.

He is walking and shuffling along furniture while holding on, and has brief moments of standing and balancing on his own.

He loves dancing and shaking his hips, whether there is music playing or not.

Some of his favorite toys are his cars and trains and when he pushes them he makes "vvrrrooommm" noises.

One of my favorite things is coming home from work and getting big hugs. One of his favorite things during our hugs is biting me on the shoulder... hard! He only does this to his Momma. I think he must like the reaction he gets from me.

Rock the vote!

but it didn't help. President Obama re-elected in 2012.

Fall Fun

10 months

We have reached the Month of October. Fall is officially here and our sweet little baby is 10 months old. Our monthly pictures are getting harder and harder to do since Thatcher does not like to sit still for very long any more. 

He is all over the place now. Any chance he gets he is off, making his escape. Most often he loves heading right to the stairs. Once he gets to the stairs, without hesitation he will quickly climb all the way up to the top (with someone right behind him of course).

Once he gets upstairs his favorite toy lately has been his big school bus. He just loves pulling himself up and spinning all the blocks and beads. He even turns the steering wheel and shifts gears.

He likes to watch Dora the Explorer on the iPad. It only holds his attention for a few minutes, but he just laughs and laughs at Dora and Boots.  

He has been experimenting with more and more table foods. We have tried pieces of crackers and small amounts of chicken and all different kinds of vegetables.

And we just discovered that he is getting FOUR MORE TEETH. Two on the top and two on the bottom. They are big and look painful. That makes 12 total teeth! He is being a real good boy though with minimal complaints. Happy Happy guy!

9 Months

Thatcher is 9 months old! We had our 9 month check up and our big boy is healthy as can be. He weighs 23.5 pounds putting him in the 75th percentile for weight, he is 28.5 inches tall putting him in the 60th percentile for height and his head measures 18.25 inches putting him in the 75th percentile for head circumference.

He is crawling everywhere now and is always on the move. He has just started pulling himself up on anything that he can, but he's still pretty unstable. He hits his head on everything making momma very nervous.

He is babbling more and more, and he just loves saying Dadda!

He is happy when reading books and his favorites are by Dr. Seuss: "There's a Wocket in my Pocket" and "Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb".

His favorite toys are his musical instruments. He loves strumming his ukulele (he tries to strum on everything, actually). He also loves playing his drum and xylophone.

He loves taking walks in the stroller. And he is very good at giving low-fives.

And mostly... he is very good at being really really cute!
